Many questions in different variations can arise when going to a LAN - whether you are going yourself, you have a child who is attending, or you are going together with your child. On this page, we have collected the most frequently asked questions (FAQ).
NPH (Netparty Herning) is our partner at Gamebox Festival LAN, and they have plenty of experience from previous LAN events. Their crew will be present during Gamebox Festival LAN and will be happy to help and assist you during the LAN event itself.
Questions about age
How old do you have to be?
Gamebox Festival does not have an age limit as such. However, you must be old enough to take care of yourself or be accompanied by a parent or older sibling who can look after you.
Can I go alone?
As long as you can take care of yourself, you can come alone. You're likely to quickly strike up a conversation with some of the other participants.
Questions regarding arrival
Should I come when it starts?
It's entirely up to you. However, it's easiest to get in during Gamebox Festival's general opening hours.
Where can I park my car?
Free parking is available at Parking 1 and Parking 3. See map
During the first hours when LAN is open, it will be possible to unload close to the LAN halls.
Seat related questions
Do I need to pre-book my seat?
You choose your specific seat at the same time as you buy your ticket. So if you're a group who wants to sit together, you'll need to coordinate which seats you choose - or buy the tickets in a single order.
What can I plug in at my seat?
You may connect your computer OR your console, and possibly a mobile charger. A computer is defined as the computer itself and its monitor(s). Two monitors may be connected to one computer.
Do I have to bring my own chair?
No, you don't have to. There is a chair available. However, if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own.
Game and equipment questions
What games are played at LAN?
It's entirely up to the participants themselves. We will announce if there will be competitions or tournaments in specific games.
If I don't have a particular game, can I get a copy?
No, you can't. It is illegal to copy games, and therefore Gamebox Festival will of course not accept that you do it at our LAN.
I forgot my mouse, power cable etc. What do I do?
There are plenty of opportunities to buy whatever you need for the Gamebox Festival. Just remember to do it during the regular opening hours of the festival.
Food and drink questions
Can I bring food and drinks with me from home?
We encourage you to support Gamebox Festival. It will be possible to buy food and drinks at the various stalls in the halls and the 24-hour kiosk in the LAN hall.
Can meals be pre-ordered?
Yes, certain meals can be purchased when you buy a LAN ticket. The LAN Meals package consists of dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday, dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
Can I purchase the LAN Meals ticket on-site?
The LAN Meals package with dinner Friday, breakfast on Saturday, dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday must be pre-booked via the ticket system.
How old do you have to be to buy energy drinks?
You must be 15 years old to purchase energy drinks at Gamebox Festival. Bring identification such as a health insurance card or passport.
Miscellaneous questions
Can I bring other electrical items such as fridge and kettle?
No, you are not allowed to.
Can day visitors enter the LAN area?
Yes, anyone with a ticket to Gamebox Festival can come and take a look inside the LAN halls. This way normal day visitors at Gamebox Festival have the opportunity to enter the halls and experience the atmosphere.
